Day by day I’m more convinced that the southern part of the world is simply GREAT! Chaos everywhere. In everything the people are doing…anyhow they are behaving…they simply maximize the chaos around! The universe will finish when the entropy will be 1…and the southern part of the world is speeding up the process ( I guess only Germans are actually working against the natural forces).
We arrived in Marrakesh on Friday morning, after having slept 5 hours in London airport (potentially our mind was already confused), and I felt something about the chaos immediately outside the aircraft…150mt of nice walk to get the terminal building, beside mechanicals who were fixing the bus, an aircraft’s tire etc…brilliant! The dorr…and…almost 500 people in the queue for the passport control. Of course our driver was waiting for us outside…mmm…we actually called the riad three times and after 40 minutes one guy showed up …welcome to Marrakesh
The Riad is in the medina…the problem is that we didn’t know what the medina is….an huge amount of small streets, almost equal each other ,with thousand of people trying to deal each others…almost all of them trying to deal with the tourists (which actually means yourself
). Impressive!
After a “nice walk” in the medina with a guy who carried our luggage we arrived “safe and sound” to the riad. We spent 10 minutes to realize that our life wasn’t at risk even if we though this while walking…in the evening, when it was dark, we met the family of a Chinese professor and we really saw the fear on their faces
. However the safety around Marrakesh is more than the level you can guess at first sight.
Great first day…second day….well…I’m here, writing…when I was suppose to be in a trip to the mountains…welcome to the Marrak…chaos!!!

Yesss…after the worst week moving stuff and cleaning house, we now live in the new house!! No Dishwasher, no mushrooms ( see below
), but a very nice new play where to say.
Of course, while I’m trying to find a scooter, I started to use the bus to go to work every day…and surprise!!! From my door to the door of the office I need less time than the time from my previous home in DunDrum!! Impressive.
Chronometer in my left hand every day I checked properly the time needed to reach the office…wow!!! An average of 40 mins, including 6 minutes from the door to the bus stop, 2 mins waiting the bus, 25 minutes on the bus (very useful to study
) and 5 minutes to the office through the Trinity college!! Brilliant!!
Anyway…this is not enough for me…I’m still looking to buy this scooter…the italian job

There is something that all my Italian friends ask me everytime: how much the Irish people drink?
Well…let’s say “a lot”. But what happens in Ballylooby is really, really beyond your expectation
.
Once upon a time in Ballylooby (and maybe everywhere in Ireland) there was the Mass in the Christmas night. At midnight, all the people in town were used to go to the Church for the mass… the number reduced…reduced…and now there is a mass in the morning, at 7.30 AM.
But…where are the people? It seems that was used, after the mass, to go together to the pub!! So, the people, decided, step by step, to go for “one pint” to the pub BEFORE the mass…after a couple of years, nobody was at the mass but everybody were at the pub: even the priest decided to join them!!!
“A pint of Guinness, please”

Have you ever got the sensation that you are unavailable only to your self?? Exactly…that’s exactly what is going on today to me. I cannot access my profile on live…but of course all the other people can see everything!!!
I hope to come back soon

The real title, to be honest, shall be Mushrooms of Dublin. Anyway…here what happened.
After 2 years we live in Dublin and 3 moving house we now have a good viewing of what can be showed from landlord in this brilliant city! Basically they don’t care of the status of the property. Especially two years ago, when, due to the Celtic Tiger, there weren’t properties available, the landlords were use to show property which would needed to be bombing before reconstruction; then renewed
.
But now…there are plenty of properties available in Dublin! We even receive a second call from the owner of a property to inform us he wanted to reduce the rent to 1000 euro in order to be sure that we can rent the place!!! We saw something never seen before!! I don’t wanna comment it…please have a look:
Exactly!! Those are 2 “Wonderful” mushrooms!!! In the bathroom!!
What’s the price? Well the price has been reduced to 1100 euro, no dishwasher, and rent allowance not accepted! Mushrooms included, of course!

Well…I’m not sure if I’m really going to write four posts here, but for sure I’ll write a couple of comments which could stay in separate posts instead.
ON FLY CALLS – For the first time in my life I was into an aircraft with the “On air” network. All the passengers, including myself, were surprised to hear from the cabin crew: “We now remember you that you can switch on your mobile phones and use the on air network for calls as well as texts and data traffic”. I tried the texts, they seem to work fine except that I received an incoming message twice (one on the aircraft and a second copy when I landed and I registered my phone on his own network). Data connection is not working (at least for me): I didn’t have the chance to change my status on facebook neither to use Lifecache-snc
ITALIAN QUEUEING – Today I flew to Italy, so I moved from an “English world” to a “Latin world”. Impressive!! After two years living in a different country it was really strange to come back to the Italian world. Turin airport – No on line check-in available – Flight at 14.50 and check-in shall close at 14.10 – I was at the queue at 13.50 – 15 people in front of me – I did my check-in at 14.27 (2mins and 20sec for each check-in) – I run to the gate – gate still closed – boarding started at 14.46 – flight delayed – It is normal – W L’Italia!
ITALIAN LANDING – This is maybe only a Sicilian stuff now. I was really surprised today when a middle age woman tried three times (3!!) to start to clap to the pilot of the aircraft. She was beside me – I asked her if she is use to receive the same while doing her job – she said “no” – No clap anymore…well done Salvo!!
SICILIAN FIGHTNG – The best of the best!! Couple of Sicilians: She could be 30, he is 35 maybe. They arrived to the bus station, he was pushing the whole trolley with luggage (which were looking property of her from the color). The bus they were looking for seemed to be gone for few minutes. He tried to say her: “shit, just the few minutes we lost for the toilette”. She started immediately to scream against him: “yes….true…that’s because you are looking for an excuse to say to me fuck off!! I told you to leave me alone to run here to stop the bus!! But you waited to be sure that you can tell me fuck off!! There was a long queue for the toilette and I cannot exit from the aircraft and take 1h and half of bus without going to the toilet first!” A second woman which was close to them: “Yes, I can confirm that there was a long queue and she tried to reach the toilet as soon as she can”. The first girl: “It doesn’t matter, he is looking for the excuse to say fuck off to me!!” All of this in front of 15-20 people which were listening…I was laughing!!! The bus they were waiting for arrived with a small delay. She jumped in, he put all the luggage into the bus, he paid both tickets, they are now in the bus with me and I’m writing about them…nice
I cannot live with a Sicilian girl!! My girlfriend is sicilian for the 25%…I hope this has been taken completely from that 50% which is good in almost any Sicilian!
Well…of course I’m Sicilian only for 50%
Wow…and now I should be completely fu**ed up!! No excuses anymore for writing a new post! Windows Live Writer…which is a desktop application, it allows me to write and manage everything I want for my blog, and then I can decide to publish the post when I want/I have an internet connection!! Cool!!
Lets go for a pint to celebrate!!

Yes…I did it! I removed the heavy internal jacket and I decided to take the risk to get some cold in this strange weather… but..SUN SUN SUN…I can’t believe it!
The spring seems has started in Dublin. I still hope to see the summer this year!
S.
Today, after more than 6 months, when I left the office I felt something strange (for me)…Everything was different: the color of the grass in Trinity college, the number of people in the park in the Trinity, even the sky….exactly!!! I got it!! The sky!!! For the first time in the last 6 months I left the office before the sunset!!! Impressive…now I really hope to have a summer after 2 years.
